Salmon Homecoming celebration
Seattle Aquarium and Waterfront Park
Come celebrate the rich history of the people and the environment of the Pacific Northwest. The weekend's events pay homage to regional Native American tribal culture and our iconic salmon with delicious traditional foods, dance, film screenings and more.

The Salmon Return
Olympic Sculpture Park, PACCAR Pavilion
The Seattle Art Museum partners with local organizations to present an accompaniment to the Salmon Homecoming weekend. Adults and children can use an underwater camera to discover what lives in Puget Sound, create salmon-themed art projects, and learn what each of us can do on land to help protect our treasured fish.

Book Talk and Reception for Born Digital: Understanding The First Generation of Digital Natives by John Palfrey and Urs Gasser
Experience Music Project (JBL Theater)
Join Harvard University's Berkman Center for the Internet and Society in a public discussion of their newest publication on social impacts of the information age. The book talk will be followed by a cocktail reception. The event is free and open to the public, no RSVP required.

Parking spaces in neighborhoods throughout the Seattle area will be transformed into temporary parks in celebration of this annual worldwide grassroots event, highlights the need for more urban green space for people to rest and relax in.

Design for Livability Conference

AIA Seattle, Allied Arts and the Cascade Land Conservancy join forces to present three days of discussion on pressing issues for the design and creation of a more livable urban environment. Topics include "Changing the American Dream," "Doing Density Right," and "Taking Action." Registration required.

Pecha Kucha Night
Center on Contemporary Art
Pecha Kucha night guarantees interest and excitement with its innovative schedule: Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each – allowing for a variety of presentations that each clock in at exactly six minutes, 40 seconds. This month, young designers present on the provocative theme of "trouble."
