This Friday, November 3, Blackbird Presents and the Portland Mercury will be throwing a live concert to benefit the Community Cycling Center.

To the uninitiated, the CCC is an amazing nonprofit bikeshop that recycles donated bikes for distribution to needy children, and to adults who lack a reliable means of transportation. They are currently gearing up for their annual Holiday Bike Drive, in which an assembly line of volunteers pamper children, who might otherwise not be getting any presents at all, not just with a new bike and helmet, but with all the glowing attention that they can lavish on these children at every step of the process. At least, that's what my co-worker Patrick says; this year's drive will be a first for me, too. But between now and then is this matter of a concert, so go check it out!
