It's the new year and time to look ahead. Canada 2020 is a website that looks thirteen years ahead. They've sponsored a contest of "citizen essays" of up to 800 words, inviting Canadians to write bout what issues will be most pressing for Canada in 2020. The prize is (not surprisingly) $2020 for the best essay. Here's the catch, though: the deadline for submissions is January 31, 2007.

The winning essay will be the one that sparks the most comment and discussion on the website. This essay will be published in La Presse and the Toronto Star.
