Micki Krimmel is a blogger, videoblogger and new media consultant with a passion for social change. She is one of the most widely recognized personalities in the Web 2.0 space thanks to her work in online community, social activism and her blog/videoblog at Mickipedia.com.
Micki has a wide range of media experience from film production to online community management. She recently worked as Director of Community for Revver.com, a ground-breaking online video sharing service, the first of its kind to share revenue with video creators. Prior to Revver, she built and managed the interactive department at Jeff Skoll's award-winning film company Participant Productions (An Inconvenient Truth, Syriana, Good Night & Good Luck, etc.).
Before making the leap into the web, Micki received an undergraduate degree in Film Production from Boston University and worked extensively in film production and post-production including what she counts as her best job to date as a Production Assistant on Clint Eastwood's Mystic River.
Micki is now focusing on projects that blur the line between traditional and new media, building strong communities on the web for authentic conversation and real social action. Micki is advising on several web start-ups and is in development for a videoblog/documentary project about atheism as a positive force for social change.
