Spending a year exploring the lands of Northern Europe caused Danica to realize the severity of climate change. Upon returning to her native Oklahoma she was determined to continue living the sustainable lifestyle she had picked up while abroad, even if it meant living in drastic contrast to the culture that surrounded her.
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma she wanted to do more than just live green, she wanted to help turn the world green. This desire for change led her to Seattle where she felt a movement was being born. In order to learn from social innovators first-hand she came to Worldchanging where she became an intern in September 2009.
Her interests in sustainability focus on urban design, bicycling, urban farming and transportation. This new Seattleite likes to spend her time scouring the local farm stands, hanging out in coffee shops, walking the city in search of street art and photographing the urban culture.
