On The Media, an excellent New York-based public radio show that commits weekly analysis of the news, the press, the media, and media technologies, is the first National Public Radio show to take up podcasting. In the inaugural-podcasted January 7, 2005 edition, featured stories include: Esther Dyson on how the internet was integrated into the tsunami aftermath in a way not seen before; Buzzmachine's Jeff Jarvis on the power of vlogs; a critique of foreign policy reporting at the New York Times; and, natch, an introduction to and analysis of podcasting, with CBC Radio technology columnist Todd Maffin.
