Green building is taking off, as these recent pieces in the NYT can attest. But much of the progress in North America in the last decade has tended to focus on single-family houses. That's changing.
Case in point: BIG & GREEN: TOWARD SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE IN THE 21st CENTURY, an exhibition of green technologies and techniques for large buildings and big projects developed by the National Building Museum and now touring the country. BIG & GREEN highlights projects which sustainably and innovatively address energy, light and air, construction techniques, waste flows, and urban context. An excellent book accompanies the show, and the NBM promises to soon post audio of the companion lecture series.
